7tech vs Uprite Services for San Antonio IT Support
Last updated August 4, 2026. Reviewed quarterly.

We should say this before anything else.
7tech wrote this page. We are one of the two companies on it.
So read it the way you would read any comparison written by a competitor, which is skeptically. Every number below comes from something one of us has published, and we have linked both. Where Uprite is the better choice, we say so. Where they beat us, we name it.
The Short Answer
Uprite Services is the stronger choice if you want the longest satisfaction guarantee in the market, the longest operating history in Texas, or the most published pricing tiers to choose from. Their 120-day guarantee is twice the length of ours.
7tech is the stronger choice if you are based in San Antonio, if your industry is nonprofit, construction, or manufacturing, if you want unlimited support at every tier rather than a monthly hour allowance at the entry level, or if a documented in-house security operations center matters to how you evaluate risk.
On price, our 24/7 fully managed tier is $129 per user per month and Uprite’s Fully Managed IT starts at $138. Neither figure includes third-party licensing, and the two tiers are not identical in scope, so we have laid out both ladders below rather than declaring one number cheaper. Both companies publish real pricing. Most of this market does not.
What Uprite Does Better
Three things, stated plainly.
The guarantee. Uprite offers a 120-day satisfaction guarantee written into the contract. Ours is 60 days. Theirs is twice as long. If the length of the exit window is your primary concern, they win it outright, and we say the same thing in our published San Antonio rankings.
Texas tenure. Uprite has been operating in Texas for more than twenty years. We have been at this since 2012. They have also placed on the MSP 501 list for seven consecutive years. We are a five-time MSP 501 winner. Longer is longer.
Third-party ranking. On Clutch’s Top IT Managed Service Providers in San Antonio list, Uprite ranks #1 and we rank #3. Two providers place above us on that list, and one of them is Uprite.
Where We Think We Are Stronger
San Antonio is where we live. Our headquarters, our leadership, and our security operations team are here. We also have team members in Austin, Dallas, and Houston, with onsite service available across all four metros. Uprite has a San Antonio office and a dedicated San Antonio vCIO practice. But their largest operation and most of their published case studies are Houston-based. If you want the company’s center of gravity in your city, that is us.
Industry fit, if you are in ours. Our named clients and published case studies concentrate in nonprofit, construction including general contractors and subcontractors, and manufacturing. We are members of the San Antonio Manufacturers Association, the San Antonio Subcontractors Association, and The Nonprofit Council. Uprite’s documented experience concentrates in healthcare, finance, and logistics. Neither list is better. They are different, and the right question is which one contains your industry.
Unlimited support at every tier. This is the difference we would most want you to check yourself. Every 7tech tier includes unlimited support with no fair-use clause in the service agreement, including our lowest tier at $96. Uprite’s entry tier, IT Essentials, publishes a limit of eight hours of support per user per month. Their higher tiers include 24/7 availability.
If you have not run into the term before, a fair-use clause is contract language that lets a provider slow down or start billing for support once it decides your usage has become excessive. It is what makes the word “unlimited” conditional. Ours does not contain one, so ask us about it and ask every provider you evaluate about it. The answer is in the agreement, not the brochure.
An hour allowance changes how a company behaves. It makes people ration help and weigh whether a problem is worth spending the month’s budget on. That is the opposite of what you want from IT support, and it is why we have never counted hours.
A documented in-house security operations center. We run our own private SOC and SIEM. Our employees, our building, nothing outsourced. Uprite’s security pages refer to “our SOC,” and as of August 2026 we found no published detail on where it operates, who staffs it, or whether it runs in-house or through a partner. That is a gap in what is published, not a claim about how they operate. Ask them, ask us, and compare what you hear.
Response Time Numbers Are Not Comparable, So Here Is What Ours Measures
Our 20-minute target means a human technician is working your ticket inside twenty minutes. Not an automated acknowledgment. Not a confirmation email. Not a triage step. Not a place in a queue. A person, on your problem.
That distinction matters more than the number itself, because response-time figures across this industry measure completely different events. Some providers count the autoresponder. Some count when a ticket is categorized and routed. Some count when a human actually starts solving it. The numbers look comparable on a page and are not.
Uprite publishes that issues are triaged within ten minutes and assigned to a technician. Triage and assignment describe how a ticket is categorized and routed. Their published wording does not state when work begins. Their service may well be faster than ours. The point is that the two numbers do not measure the same event, so putting them side by side as if they did would mislead you.
Ask both of us the same question. When does your clock start, when does it stop, and what has actually happened to my ticket at the moment it stops?
Then ask about resolution, not just response. Response tells you when somebody looked. Resolution tells you when your problem went away. We publish both: 80 percent of tickets close the same day they open, an average resolution time of 2.95 hours, and a 97.4 percent customer satisfaction rating. We could not find published resolution or satisfaction figures from Uprite. If we were the buyer, resolution is the number we would push hardest on, with any provider.
How the Tiers Line Up
Uprite publishes five tiers and we publish three. Before comparing any two prices, read the scope each company attaches to them, because two of Uprite’s carry restrictions that decide whether they are available to you at all.
Uprite’s published tiers. Fully Managed IT starts at $138 per user per month, described as a complete IT department replacement with 24/7 support, onsite and cloud infrastructure management, an advanced security stack, and vCIO planning sessions. Remote Only: IT Pro starts at $110 and is scoped to teams of twelve or more employees outside the Houston and San Antonio areas. Remote Only: IT Essentials starts at $91 and is scoped to teams of fewer than twelve employees, with support limited to eight hours per user per month and monitoring described as alerting only, with no response. They also publish a Co-Managed IT Partnership from $100 and an MSSP Security Focus tier from $40, both for companies that already have internal IT staff.
What that means if you are in San Antonio. Their IT Pro tier is scoped outside your metro. Their IT Essentials tier is scoped below the size of most organizations reading this page. If you want a provider to run your IT rather than augment a team you already have, Fully Managed IT at $138 is the comparable option. That is why this page compares $129 to $138 instead of reaching for their lowest published number.
Our published tiers. Our managed IT service tiers run as follows. Total IT Essentials at $96 per user per month covers business hours with unlimited support, and excludes onsite service and employee onboarding and offboarding. Total IT Unlimited at $129 adds around-the-clock coverage, onsite service, and employee onboarding and offboarding. Security+ at $179 adds advanced security monitoring for regulated or complex environments. All three include unlimited support with no fair-use clause, and none of them is restricted by metro or headcount.
Neither company’s prices include third-party licensing such as Microsoft 365, and every tier on both sides is published as a starting price rather than a fixed one.
Two numbers sitting close together does not make two tiers equivalent. Before you weigh $129 against $138, ask each of us for a written list of what sits inside the tier being quoted and compare those lists instead. Uprite publishes vCIO planning sessions inside their Fully Managed tier. Ask us what strategic planning is included in ours, and get the answer in writing.
Side by Side

Guarantees and Retention Measure Different Things
Uprite wins the guarantee comparison. That stands without qualification. Ours runs 60 days and excludes third-party fees.
But before you weight it heavily, consider what each number actually tells you.
A guarantee is a promise about the exit. It says how long you have to change your mind. Retention tells you how often anybody uses that door. A long guarantee matters most in a market where clients frequently want out in the first few months.
We publish a 94 percent average client retention rate. We could not find a published retention figure from Uprite, so ask them for it. If their retention is higher than ours, that is worth knowing and it should count against us.
One more question worth asking both of us: how many times has your guarantee actually been invoked, and what happened? A guarantee nobody has ever needed and a guarantee nobody could ever collect on look identical in a brochure.
Our advice applies to every provider you evaluate, including us. Ask for both numbers together. A long guarantee with low retention is telling you something. So is a short guarantee with high retention. Guarantees are what a company promises. Retention is what its clients decide.
How to Audit This Comparison, Including Ours
Three checks. Does it state the date its data was verified? Does the comparison table agree with the paragraphs around it? Does it link its sources, or only name them?
A fourth one applies specifically to pages like this, written by one of the two companies being compared. Does it name anything the author loses? If a comparison written by a competitor has that competitor winning every row, you are reading an advertisement with a table in it.
Questions to Ask Both of Us
Take these to the discovery call. The answers will separate us faster than any comparison page can.
- Who staffs your security operations center, where does it operate, and is any part of it outsourced?
- When your response-time clock stops, what has actually happened to my ticket? An automated acknowledgment, a person reading it, or a technician working it?
- What is your average client retention, and how do you calculate it?
- Is support capped in any way at the tier you are quoting me, including any fair-use or reasonable-use language in the agreement?
- What percentage of tickets close the same day they are opened?
- Can I see a written list of exactly what is included in the tier you are quoting me, and what is billed separately?
- Can I speak to a reference in my industry, in my city, at roughly my size?
- What is the minimum contract term, and what changes if I sign for longer?
Frequently Asked Questions
Is 7tech or Uprite cheaper?
Our 24/7 fully managed tier is $129 per user per month. Uprite’s Fully Managed IT starts at $138. Neither figure includes third-party licensing. Uprite publishes cheaper tiers, but their IT Pro tier is scoped to teams outside the Houston and San Antonio areas and their IT Essentials tier is scoped to teams under twelve employees, so for a San Antonio business those are not the options on the table. Ask each of us for a written list of what sits inside the tier being quoted and compare those lists rather than the headline numbers.
Which one has the better guarantee?
Uprite. Their satisfaction guarantee runs 120 days against our 60. That is twice as long and it is written into their contract.
Who responds faster, 7tech or Uprite?
The published numbers measure different events, so neither of us can honestly claim a win on them. Our 20-minute target means a human technician is working your ticket, not that an autoresponder fired. Uprite publishes that issues are triaged within ten minutes and assigned to a technician, which describes routing rather than when work begins. Ask both of us when the clock starts, when it stops, and what has happened to your ticket at that point. Then ask what percentage of tickets close the same day, because that is the number you actually feel.
What is a fair-use clause?
It is contract language that lets a provider slow down or start billing for support once it decides your usage has become excessive. It is what makes the word “unlimited” conditional. 7tech’s service agreement does not contain one at any tier. Ask any provider you evaluate whether theirs does, and ask to see the language.
Does Uprite have a San Antonio office?
Yes. Uprite maintains a San Antonio office and publishes a dedicated San Antonio vCIO practice. Their largest operation and most of their published case studies are Houston-based.
Does Uprite run its own security operations center?
Their security pages refer to “our SOC.” As of August 2026 we found no published detail on where it operates, who staffs it, or whether it runs in-house or through a partner. That is a gap in what is published rather than a statement about how they operate.
Does 7tech run its own security operations center?
Yes. We operate a private in-house SOC and SIEM in San Antonio, staffed by our own employees, and we outsource no security functions. Ask us to walk you through it on a call.
Where is 7tech located, and can you support sites outside San Antonio?
We are headquartered in San Antonio, with team members in Austin, Dallas, and Houston and onsite service available across all four metros. Our security operations run nationwide.
What industries does 7tech specialize in?
Nonprofits, manufacturers, and construction firms including general contractors and subcontractors, plus other professional industries with regulatory compliance requirements. We are members of the San Antonio Manufacturers Association, the San Antonio Subcontractors Association, and The Nonprofit Council. We serve organizations with 25 to 600 workstations.
Is 7tech’s support really unlimited?
Yes, at every tier including our lowest. We do not cap support hours, bill by the ticket, or apply a fair-use clause in our service agreement. Uprite publishes an eight-hour-per-user monthly limit on its entry tier, IT Essentials, and 24/7 availability on its other tiers.
Should I just hire Uprite?
If their guarantee length, their longer operating history in Texas, or their healthcare, finance, and logistics experience matches what you need better than what we offer, then yes. We would rather you choose well than choose us.
