The Best Managed IT Providers in San Antonio for 2026 (Ranked With a Public Methodology)

Last updated July 2026. Reviewed quarterly.

Let’s get something out of the way first.

7tech wrote this guide. We are on this list.

Most “best MSP” articles hide that. The provider writes the list, ranks itself first, and never shows its math. You deserve better. So here is our full scoring rubric, our sources, and our scores for every provider, including the categories where our competitors beat us.

Check our math. Better yet, run the rubric yourself. That’s the point.

The Short Answer

By our published seven-criterion rubric, 7tech ranks first overall for San Antonio organizations with 25 to 600 workstations, scoring highest on security depth (private in-house Security Operations Center, no outsourced security functions), vertical experience (named nonprofit, construction, and manufacturing clients), and response commitments. 7tech publishes its pricing at $129 to $179 per user per month. Uprite Services ranks second and wins one category outright: guarantee length (120 days versus 7tech’s 60). Fully managed IT in San Antonio runs $110 to $180 per user per month. The full scoring, including the categories we lose, is below.

Quick Picks by Situation

  • Best for security-first mid-sized organizations (25 to 600 workstations): 7tech
  • Best published guarantee: Uprite Services
  • Best for projects plus managed services under one roof: Bridgehead IT
  • Best published pricing for smaller teams: Straight Edge Technology
  • Best for supplier diversity requirements: RX Technology
  • Best for multi-city Texas coverage: IT GOAT
  • Best for close advisory relationships: Live Oak IT Partners
  • Best for very small businesses wanting personal local service: SecureTech

How We Scored Every Provider

We scored eight San Antonio managed IT providers across seven criteria. Each provider gets a 1 to 10 score per criterion. Weights are shown below.

Only public, verifiable information counts. Third-party reviews count. Testimonials on a provider’s own website do not, including ours.

One clarification on that rule. Facts published on a provider’s own site, like client industries, team size, or pricing, are cited for every provider in this guide, ours included. Quotes from any provider’s own testimonials appear nowhere in this article. Self-curated praise is not evidence, no matter whose it is.

# Criterion Weight What we looked at
1 Verified client reviews 20% Google and Clutch review volume, rating, and recency
2 Response commitments 15% Published response and resolution numbers, and whether they’re targets or guarantees
3 Security depth 20% In-house Security Operations Center (SOC), managed security (MSSP) capability, threat response
4 Vertical experience 15% Named case studies and industry association memberships
5 Guarantees and exit terms 10% Published satisfaction guarantees, scored by length and clarity
6 Pricing transparency 10% Published pricing ranges beat “call us for a quote”
7 Local tenure and stability 10% Years serving San Antonio, client retention, local team

A quick note on weights. We weighted security at 20% because ransomware, cyber insurance requirements, and compliance pressure are the top reasons San Antonio businesses switch providers in 2026. If security matters less to you, reweight it. The rubric is yours now.

The 2026 Rankings at a Glance

Rank Provider Score Strongest category Weakest category
1 7tech 8.8 Security depth Guarantee length
2 Uprite Services 7.8 Guarantee length SA vertical proof
3 Bridgehead IT 7.1 Team size and Google review base Published commitments
4 Straight Edge Technology 6.7 Pricing transparency SA review volume
5 RX Technology 6.4 Local tenure Review consistency
6 SecureTech 6.1 Google reviews (5.0 across 139) Published commitments
7 Live Oak IT Partners 5.9 Relationship model Security depth
8 IT GOAT 5.6 Clutch ratings No SA Google presence

Two things worth saying plainly.

We did not win every category. Uprite’s 120-day guarantee beats our 60-day guarantee, and we say so below. SecureTech has more Google reviews than we do. We show you this because a list where the author wins everything is not a list. It’s an ad.

And second place is a strong provider. If Uprite fits your needs better than we do, hire them. Our goal is a confident decision, not a captured one.

Compare Providers by Industry

The rankings above are general. Your industry changes the criteria that matter. We’re applying this same rubric with industry-specific scoring to nonprofit, construction, and manufacturing guides, publishing throughout Q3 2026:

  • Best IT providers for San Antonio nonprofits
  • Best IT providers for San Antonio construction companies
  • Best IT providers for San Antonio manufacturers

The Providers, In Detail

1. 7tech

One line. San Antonio security-first IT provider for mid-sized organizations.

The facts. Serving Texas since 2012. Headquartered in San Antonio near the airport, with an Austin office. Over 30 US-based employees. Supports 80+ companies and 3,000+ end users. Published pricing of $129 to $179 per user per month, with volume discounts for larger environments. Built for organizations with 25 to 600 workstations, especially nonprofits, construction firms (general contractors and subcontractors), and manufacturers.

Where we scored well. Security depth is our strongest category. 7tech runs a private, in-house SOC and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) system. No security functions are outsourced. We are a ThreatLocker Gold Partner, a CRN Security 100 winner, and a 5X MSP501 winner. Vertical proof is deep: named clients and case studies in nonprofit (STARRY, Inc. cloud migration), construction (Gomez Floor Covering, Texas Chiller Systems), manufacturing (Watco Tanks), and small business security (PHCC), plus memberships in the San Antonio Manufacturers Association and The Nonprofit Council.

Clients stay, too. 7tech holds a 94% average client retention rate and a 4.9 Google rating across 52 reviews. We think retention is the single most honest number in this industry. Anyone can win a client. Keeping them for years is the part you can’t fake.

Where we scored poorly, honestly. Our 60-day money-back guarantee is real and published, but Uprite’s 120-day guarantee is twice as long, and they win that category. Our 20-minute response time is a service level target we hit consistently, not a contractual guarantee, and we score it as such. And our Google rating is 4.9, not a perfect 5.0.

Best for. Organizations with 25 to 600 workstations that rank security and compliance first, want one accountable US-based team, and value industry-specific experience in nonprofit, construction, or manufacturing.

Not ideal for. Businesses under 25 workstations, or buyers whose top priority is the lowest monthly price.

2. Uprite Services

One line. Multi-city Texas MSP with strong transparency practices.

The facts. Texas-based with offices in Houston, San Antonio, and DFW. Currently ranked #1 on Clutch’s San Antonio MSP Leaders Matrix. Publishes per-user pricing starting around $91 to $138 per user per month depending on service tier. Offers a 120-day satisfaction guarantee written into the contract.

Strengths. The pricing transparency and guarantee length are the best on this list, full stop. Review volume and ratings on Clutch are strong. Healthcare, finance, and logistics experience is documented.

Considerations. Uprite’s deepest presence is Houston, and its published San Antonio proof skews toward healthcare and professional services rather than nonprofit, construction, and manufacturing. Buyers in those industries should ask for local, industry-specific references. Uprite offers SOC services, but as of July 2026 we found no published claim that Uprite operates its own in-house security operations center. Ask them directly who staffs it.

Best for. Growing businesses that want published pricing, a long guarantee window, and multi-city Texas coverage.

3. Bridgehead IT

One line. Large San Antonio provider with broad project capabilities.

The facts. Serving San Antonio since 1999. A team of 75+ technicians, one of the largest local benches on this list. Services run wide: managed IT, cybersecurity, structured cabling, cloud, and even application development.

Strengths. Team depth and service breadth. A good fit when your needs include physical infrastructure projects alongside managed services.

Considerations. We could not find published pricing, a published satisfaction guarantee, or published response commitments. Breadth can also mean managed services is one line of business among many rather than the core focus.

Best for. Complex environments needing projects plus support under one roof.

4. Straight Edge Technology

One line. South Texas MSP with clear, published pricing.

The facts. Founded in 2006, offices in Corpus Christi and San Antonio. Publishes fully managed pricing of $150 to $180 per user per month with a 12-user minimum. Serves healthcare, CPA firms, legal, manufacturing, oil and gas, and nonprofits.

Strengths. Pricing transparency is excellent. The Technology Roadmap planning model is a genuine strength for businesses that have suffered from reactive providers.

Considerations. Security is delivered as part of general managed services; we found no published dedicated SOC as of July 2026. Its deepest roots are in Corpus Christi, and its San Antonio Google profile holds just 3 reviews.

Best for. Small and mid-sized businesses that want honest pricing and a planning-first relationship.

5. RX Technology

One line. Long-tenured San Antonio provider with uptime focus.

The facts. Serving San Antonio since 1994, one of the longest tenures in the market. A certified small, women, and minority-owned business. Markets 15-minute response times and SOC 2 compliance.

Strengths. Three decades of local history. The minority-owned certification matters for organizations with supplier diversity goals, including many nonprofits and government-adjacent buyers.

Considerations. Third-party review feedback is mixed, with at least one detailed public complaint about help desk response consistency. Ask for current references and published commitments.

Best for. Organizations that value long local tenure and supplier diversity certifications.

6. SecureTech

One line. Small San Antonio shop known for personal service.

The facts. Founded in 2002. Holds a 5.0 Google rating across 139 reviews, the largest verified Google review base on this list, plus a perfect 5.0 Clutch rating across a small sample. Praised for smooth IT transitions and hands-on support.

Strengths. Genuinely personal service from a local team. Clients specifically praise onboarding and transitions.

Considerations. A very small team with limited review volume across 20+ years. No published guarantee, SLA commitments, or pricing found. Best suited to smaller environments than most providers on this list serve.

Best for. Very small San Antonio businesses that want a personal, local IT relationship.

7. Live Oak IT Partners

One line. Relationship-focused Austin MSP covering all of Texas.

The facts. Founded in Austin in 2014. Emphasizes proactive consulting and close partnerships with small businesses. Ranks on Clutch’s San Antonio Leaders Matrix.

Strengths. The relationship model earns consistently warm client feedback.

Considerations. Austin-based rather than San Antonio-based, which affects on-site response. Published security depth, guarantees, and pricing were not found.

Best for. Small businesses that prioritize a close advisory relationship over local presence.

8. IT GOAT

One line. Newer multi-city MSP with strong review ratings.

The facts. Founded 2018, based in Dallas with San Antonio presence. Holds a 4.7 rating across 13 verified Clutch reviews. Offers three fixed-price support packages.

Strengths. Clients praise responsiveness and flexibility. Package pricing adds clarity.

Considerations. Seven years old with its center of gravity in Dallas. We found no San Antonio Google Business Profile as of July 2026, which matters for local accountability. San Antonio depth, local bench, and vertical proof are still developing. Some public feedback mentions billing model friction.

Best for. Growing businesses comfortable with a newer, multi-city provider.

Google Reviews Snapshot

Ratings and counts below were verified as of July 8, 2026, taken directly from each provider’s San Antonio Google Business Profile. We re-verify these with each quarterly update.

SecureTech 5.0 139
Bridgehead IT 4.8 65

RX Technology 4.7 23
Live Oak IT Partners 5.0 18
Straight Edge Technology 5.0 3

Worth saying out loud: SecureTech leads this table by a wide margin, not us. If Google review volume is your top signal, they’ve earned that look, especially for smaller environments. Also worth saying: a 5.0 across 3 reviews and a 4.9 across 52 are not the same kind of evidence. Volume and rating together tell the story. Review data is one of seven criteria in our rubric, and you can reweight it however you like.

Category Winners

Verified reviews. Split. SecureTech leads Google volume with a 5.0 across 139 reviews. Uprite leads Clutch, holding the #1 Leaders Matrix position.
Response commitments. 7tech. A published 20-minute human response target with 80% same-day resolution.
Security depth. 7tech. The only provider on this list with a documented private, in-house SOC and no outsourced security functions.
Vertical experience. 7tech. Named case studies and association memberships across nonprofit, construction, and manufacturing.
Guarantees. Uprite. 120 days beats every other published guarantee on this list, including ours.
Pricing transparency. Three-way tie: 7tech, Uprite, and Straight Edge all publish real numbers.
Local tenure. RX Technology. Serving San Antonio since 1994.

A Note on Guarantees vs. Retention

Uprite wins the guarantee category fairly, and we said so above. But before you weight guarantees in your own scoring, consider what each number actually measures.

A guarantee is a promise about the exit. Retention is proof of how often anyone takes it. A long guarantee matters most when clients frequently want out in the first few months. 7tech’s 94% average client retention means the exit door mostly goes unused, year after year.

Our advice, and it applies to every provider on this list: ask for both numbers. A provider with a long guarantee and low retention is telling you something. So is a provider with a short guarantee and high retention. Guarantees are what a provider promises. Retention is what its clients decide.

What Managed IT Costs in San Antonio (2026)

Published and market data put fully managed IT support at $110 to $180 per user per month in San Antonio. Security-heavy or compliance-driven service stacks run $200 to $300+ per user per month. Onboarding typically costs one to two months of the recurring fee.

Three providers on this list publish their numbers. 7tech runs $129 to $179 per user per month on a 12-month minimum term, with volume discounts for larger environments. Uprite starts around $128 per user per month on a three-year term. Straight Edge runs $150 to $180 per user per month with a 12-user minimum. Note the term lengths, not just the rates: a dollar of monthly difference matters less than whether you’re committed for one year or three.

Be careful with providers priced well below $100 per user. That price point usually excludes real cybersecurity, backup monitoring, or compliance management. Cheap IT that misses a ransomware event is the most expensive IT you can buy.
