A Client Got Hacked. That Changed Everything.
Neal grew up in his father’s auto shop in Schertz, Texas. TJ’s Automotive Specialties was a small business, and Neal worked in it. He learned what customers actually want from a vendor. Show up. Solve the problem. Tell the truth.
He carried that into technology. Neal spent 14 years at a major Texas law firm, starting as an IT specialist and rising to IT Director. He ran a coast-to-coast network across 45 offices supporting nearly 3,000 employees. He built datacenters and designed failover systems for an organization that could not afford downtime.
That experience taught him something specific. Large organizations get enterprise-grade technology. Smaller organizations get whatever their provider feels like delivering.
In March 2012, Neal started Juern Technology as a one-man shop in San Antonio. He wore every hat. Technician, strategist, support desk, and salesperson. Clients noticed one thing above the rest. He answered.
By late 2016 the company had grown enough to need a team. Neal made his first two hires that winter, and both of them still run departments here.
Then a client got hit with ransomware.
That client had declined the security stack we recommended and chosen something lighter. Neal called it a wake-up call.
His response was not to point at the contract. It was to change what the company would accept. From that day forward, 7tech would offer the security a company actually needs. If a client will not take it, we will not take the client.
That decision sent Neal looking for tools most providers did not have yet. It led him to ThreatLocker, then an early-stage startup. 7tech deployed it in 2019 and became ThreatLocker’s first Gold Partner in the world the following year.
Most providers respond to that pressure by reselling security tools they do not operate and cannot explain. Neal went the other direction. He spent four more years building real capability before he would put the letters MSSP on the door.
7tech built a private Security Operations Center and staffed it with our own people. No third-party SOC. No shared client data. If something happens at 2 a.m., the person looking at it works here.
In July 2023, after eleven years as Juern Technology, the company became 7tech. The number carries meaning. Completion, excellence, and rest. It also matches our seven core values and our seven-member management team.
The name changed. What Neal learned in his father’s shop did not.
What we are actually after
We want to create an experience of peace for our clients. The Hebrew word for it is shalom.
Shalom means more than quiet. It means whole. Nothing missing. Nothing broken.
That is the standard we hold ourselves to. Your technology should be whole. It should work, stay safe, and stop taking your attention.
Most vendors add stress to your week. We want to be the one that takes it away.
You should be able to run your business without thinking about your systems. That is what peace looks like here.
How We Deliver It
Zero Compromise Cybersecurity™ is the promise. The S.T.R.O.N.G. Process is how we keep it.
We use it in every client relationship, and we walk new clients through it before they ever sign.
S. Secure Proactive cybersecurity measures that protect your systems and prevent breaches before they happen.
T. Targeted IT solutions built around your business goals and your industry, not a template.
R. Responsive A 24/7 service desk with a 20-minute average response and same-day ticket resolution.
O. Ownership We take full responsibility for solving problems. No finger-pointing and no delays.
N. Next-Level Monitoring Continuous system monitoring that finds and fixes issues before they reach your business.
G. Growth-Focused IT strategy aligned with your long-term vision, built so it scales as you do.
Underneath the process sit two things we built ourselves. Our 3-layered security approach covering prevention, detection, and response. And our proprietary 27-Point IT Network Assessment, which is how every relationship starts.
The People Accountable for Your Account
7tech is run by a seven-member management team. Each one owns a function, and each one is reachable.
Neal ran a 45-office national network before founding this company in 2012. After a client breach, he spent four years building 7tech’s security capability from the inside out. He sits on the ThreatLocker advisory board, speaks to business and association audiences across Texas, taught IT to transitioning veterans, and has authored and co-authored two books.

Our team includes cybersecurity specialists, network engineers, and service desk technicians. Every one of them is a full-time 7tech employee.
We never hand critical IT or security work to an offshore vendor. We never share client data with a third-party SOC. When you ask who is responsible for something, there is one answer.
That structure is why our numbers look the way they do.

- Under three hours average resolution
- 80% of tickets closed the same day
- 97.4% customer satisfaction rating, measured by CrewHu across 2025

Our clientele includes Construction firms, Manufacturing plants, Non-Profit organizations, Engineering companies, Government Contractors, entities in Commercial Real Estate, Healthcare providers, Financial institutions, and various regulated and professional industries.
Why The Name 7tech?
There is a lot behind our new name, but it all starts with our 7 core values. Our management team, which has 7 members, worked hard to define how we can serve our clients better and that was the genesis for the new name.
Another interesting fact, businesses with under $50M in annual revenue should be spending about 7% of their revenue on the maintenance and acquisition of technology solutions.

Nothing Missing. Nothing Broken.
Neal started this company because small and mid-sized organizations deserved the same standard of technology that large ones take for granted.
Fourteen years later, that is still the measure. Does your team spend less time fighting technology? Can you answer a board question about security without calling someone first? Do you sleep?
If the answer is no, let us talk. Fifteen minutes.
